Presented to Barmouth RNLI lifeboat station by the now late Tom Hughes of Barmouth. This scratch built model of the former liverpool class lifeboat “THE CHIEFTAIN”, which was on service at Barmouth from 1949 -1982.

When this beautiful scaled down model was presented to Barmouth Lifeboat station, we knew it had to be protected from little fingers that quite often frequent the boathouse. Being apart of the crew myself since 2004 I wanted to make a case for it and other trinkets which could be admired for many years to come.

This was my first attempt at such a case. It is very heavy duty made from 25mm x 25mm box section for frame and legs, 2mm sheet steel for back and base, 10mm x 10mm angle for polycarbonate support, 20mm x 20mm box section leg braces, 25mm x 6mm flat bar for scrolls (done by hand) and polycarbonate for all round viewing.
